Zurich Carnival

Zurich city centre comes alive as carnival-goers dress up, don masks and jump on floats to show off their ridiculous costumes. Balls give way to a grand procession on Sunday afternoon and dissonant guggen music fills the air.
The event also includes a Guggen Monster Concert in a tent pitched in the Münsterhof square. Lastly, on the Saturday a week after the main festivities, the Uulumpete ball closes the carnival season with yet more Guggen music, dancing and masked revelry.
